COVID-19 Safety Protocols

The Guild in the Grove’s COVID Safety Precautions

The following guidelines were designed to closely coincide with the South Lane School District’s precautions so as to provide our staff and students with a safe environment and easy rules to follow

Face Coverings, Personal Protective Equipment

While vaccinated staff and students are free to choose whether or not they wear face coverings, it is now established that asymptomatic unvaccinated people can spread the virus that causes COVID-19, and this is a significant contributor to person-to-person spread. Therefore, unvaccinated individuals are required to wear face coverings.

  • Staff
    • Face coverings or other CDC-approved alternatives are required for all unvaccinated staff.
    • Unvaccinated staff must wear face coverings in common areas, when interacting with students, staff, or the public.
  • Students
    • 1) Face coverings are required for all unvaccinated students in grades kindergarten and up and recommended for pre-kindergarten children age 2 and up.
  • Students with disabilities
    • 1) Unvaccinated students needing accommodations for face coverings
      • If any unvaccinated student requires an accommodation to meet the requirement for face coverings, staff will work to limit the student’s proximity to others to the extent possible to minimize the possibility of exposure.
      • Appropriate accommodations could include:
        • a) Offering different types of face coverings or CDC-approved alternatives that may meet the needs of the student.
        • b) Spaces away from peers while the face covering is removed; students should not be left alone or unsupervised.
        • c) Short periods of the educational day that do not include wearing the face covering, while following the other health strategies to reduce the spread of disease.
        • d) Additional instructional supports to effectively wear a face covering.
    • 2) Unvaccinated students with medical conditions
      • The district may not deny access to on-site instruction for students with existing medical conditions, doctor’s orders to not wear face coverings, or other health-related concerns.
